Head of Ken Shuter Boarding House 2021
What are your hopes for Stanford Lake College as you lead the school in the year ahead?
I hope that our school can become more interactive and help our community more. Furthermore, I would like to shift traditional thinking into a more diverse way of thinking and include the entire school on how we view sensitive topics such as discrimination. I also want to make sure that everyone understands that mental health is very important and that the foundation to the road of success is having mental stability.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Making it this far and being elected as the Head of Ken Shuter. Honestly speaking, being in Stanford since the beginning has showed me that I’ve accomplished and overcome all the twists and turns that my high school career has given me. I’m beyond grateful for being elected as I can share positivity and new traditions within the boarding house. Although I still have this important year to complete; I know I will make it through on top.
Share a memorable moment during your time at Stanford Lake College…
Grade 10 tour to Zimbabwe was the most memorable experience for me as our grade bonded so much and every day was full of laughter and excitement.
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies include drawing, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, living or dead, who would they be?
Will Smith, J.Cole, Trevor Noah and Taraji P. Henson.
What’s your favourite movie?
I don’t have a favourite movie as I think it’s impossible to choose just one but my top three include: Five Feet Apart, Everything Everything and Bad Boys for Life.
What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done?
I honestly enjoy being in my comfort zone and I’m not a huge fan of change, but Stanford has shown me that change can be good. Therefore, the most daring thing I’ve done is taking part in the Grade 9 Treks. This showed me that I could accomplish things such as river rafting and self-navigating and possibly even more, stretching myself beyond the ordinary.
If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be?
A lioness. I try to keep my head held up high even though I get knocked down by obstacles.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I see myself studying in what makes me happy, in a place that I can always explore and discover new things while, being a part of charity work.
