Every parent, in selecting a school for their child, is looking for an environment that is the best fit: one that offers a safe, secure space where their child is recognised and nurtured as well as one that offers academic rigour, a sound extramural programme and growth opportunities based on the acquisition of 21st century skills.

Situated in the Magoebaskloof, on the banks of the pristine Lakeside and Stanford lakes is Stanford Lake College, an independent co-education school for pupils from Grades 8 – 12. In this country setting, Stanford Lake College is an amazing place for young boys and girls to grow into robust, adaptable young adults.

Our vision is to optimise our uniqueness, and in so doing, develop balanced, globally astute individuals. Our values-based education, the programmes we subscribe to, our membership of the Round Square organisation, our symbiotic relationship with our immediate natural environment and our highly qualified caring staff enable us to offer a truly unique experience to our pupils. Our academic curriculum is aligned with the Independent Examinations Board and is a major focus in all that we do. We take pride in our academic success, maintaining a 100% matric pass rate throughout our 22-year history. This academic success is built on a well-balanced, all-round education where, through a strong co-curricular programme, our pupils develop essential 21st century skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, grit and essential leadership skills.

Fostering a love for the outdoors, an appreciation for our environment and the need for sustainable living forms a central part of our grade 8 and 9 programme. Through the ‘dream an’ do’ centre, our pupils are involved in numerous outdoor activities, including hiking and adventure racing, developing skills that will hold them in good stead in all that they do.

Our membership of the Round Square organisation enables us to be a truly global school. Exposure to like-minded schools around the world creates opportunities for collaboration and generating debate and discussion, within our school and internationally, around issues pertaining to democracy, internationalism, environment, leadership, service and a sense of adventure. The exchange programme (driven through Round Square) gives our pupils the opportunity to travel the world, immersing themselves in foreign cultures and gaining a deep understanding of other nations.

Our sport and extramural programme offers further opportunity for our pupils to enhance their skills and thrive as young people. We boast extensive provincial representation in a number of sports and our sporting facilities are unrivalled in Limpopo, backed up by excellent coaching staff.

Our boarding houses are staffed by highly qualified caring staff who work tirelessly to ensure that the boarding experience at Stanford Lake College is that of a home away from home.

Stanford Lake College is a vibrant, diverse young school which seeks to educate young men and women who will have the tenacity, skills and growth mindset to face the world with confidence.
