The Stanford Lake College Athletics team, consisting of 90 athletes, participated in the Ben Vorster Night Race on Friday, 1 February 2019.
Our athletes did extremely well, participating against much bigger schools during the evening and achieving some exceptional places. Lia Revelas was once again our top athlete winning five races on the day and Devon Coad equalled Stanford’s High Jump record at U/15 level.
On the track, Lara Dando and Casper Venter broke the school’s U/18 3000m record for girls and boys respectively and Emma Melville broke the 1500m record. On the field, Reuben Middleton broke the U/16 Javelin record and Anja Maree broke the U/16 Discus record.
Additionally, the U/19 boys relay team, consisting of Rofhiwa Nevhutalu, Musa Mathebula, David Pullinger and Fulu Managa, took gold.
It was once again a competitive meeting for our athletes and they enjoyed the challenge.
